What topics will you study in KS3 PE and Outdoor Education?

Our Physical Education curriculum has been designed to provide students with a variety of physical activities which promote and strengthen health and wellbeing. Throughout a student’s time at Haggerston School, the PE department aim to provide opportunities for students to learn practical skills in a variety of team and individual sports. Along with this, we aim for students to learn key aspects of health and well being which will support them throughout their life.

In Key Stage 3 students will learn a variety of sports which include Football, Basketball, Netball, Handball, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Dance, Rounders, Softball, Cricket and Athletics.

There is no specific reading lists for this subject. Any wider reading 'around' the subject will be useful for students.

How will you be assessed during the course?

In KS3, students are assessed against the knowledge organisers, which are available on DPR. The practical knowledge organisers are assessed in each DPR assessment cycle allowing students to progress across the academic year, regardless of the sport being taught.

How can you help your child excel in this subject?

Supporting with the completion of homework as well as taking an active interest in sports is a great way to help support your child's performance within PE.
