What topics will you study in KS5 English?

English Literature A Level students will study a number of fiction texts such as Brick Lane by Monica Ali and Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Students will also study a range of literary forms such as Hamlet by William Shakespeare, A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen and The World's Wife Poetry Collection by Carol Ann Duffy. In addition to the end of course exams, students will have the opportunity to complete two pieces of coursework that will be based on the texts that they have studied.

How can you help your child excel in this subject?

Talk to your child regualrly about the text they are reading lin lesson. Check they are completing their homework in a quiet and calm environment with no distractions.
