SAFEGUARDING OVER THE HOLIDAYS

Dear parents and carers,

As we enter the enter the Easter holidays, here is a reminder from the safeguarding team about keeping your child safe in the holidays.

Please remind your child(ren) how to keep safe over the Easter holidays with the 4 c's

Contact: Do they know who they are in contact with? Have they actually ever met them? How appropriate is that contact? How does that contact make them feel?

Content: What are they watching/playing? Is it appropriate? Could this lead to negative behaviours towards their own development in the future?

Conduct: How are they behaving? Are they making someone else feel bad? Would they still post or comment if their parents could see as they were typing?

Commerce: Are they having to provide any details? Could their data be at risk? Have they shown the email/message/any communication to their parents? Are they having to input any money?

Ensure that if your child(ren) are out, that you are in contact with them, and are aware of where they are. We advise you to enable your phone to see your child's location if possible, and keep in contact with them.
